Pilates Mat Classes
Pilates Mat is the heart and soul of the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning. Since these classes do not utilize often-intimidating apparatuses, mat is a good introduction for those looking to experience and reap the benefits of Pilates. During mat class, you use your own body weight to create resistance. Exercises adapted from the apparatus as well as arm weights, ankle weights, and magic circles may all be included as part of this workout. Using standing, sitting and laying positions, the certified instructor cues students through the various movements to deepen and enrich this distinctly unique discipline. Best of all, since mat exercises require no special equipment, you can take this workout with you no matter where you go!
Pilates mats and accessories will be provided for students. All classes are 50 minutes in duration.
