Pilates Reformer Classes

The pilates reformer is an amazingly elegant apparatus, made up of adjustable leather straps, gears, springs, and a carriage system. The reformer provides finely tuned exercise resistance that allows a person to work very precisely to develop good alignment, core strength and flexibility. We limit group classes to five students to ensure a safe and effective workout. Students work in unison through a sequence of appropriately leveled reformer choreography, while the certified instructor guides each student through safe and proper form.


The client will work against spring resistance on the reformer, which adds a whole new level of strength training to pilates. The springs also provides support for the exercises, thereby creating variations on the pilates mat exercises. This support means that you may be able to target specific muscle groups more deeply and specifically. The rest of the resistance is provided by your own body weight. All of these classes will cover the classic syllabus with an emphasis on form, transitions and rhythm. All classes are 50 minutes in duration.
